In fact, not all products are suitable for the skin. Even dermatologists don't recommend it.

Appearance is important. This is why not a few people do various treatments to maintain their appearance.

On the other hand, not a few people do 'experiments' such as using a variety of products to apply to their skin. With claims of these products can make the skin cleaner or white.

In fact, not all of these products are suitable for the skin. Even dermatologists don't recommend it.

Here are some products or habits that some people believe can make facial skin better, but not.

1. Apple cider vinegar for the face

Apple cider vinegar is one of the many people's misconceptions. In fact this actually damages the skin layer, said the dermatologist from Vorgina, Dr. Brenda Dintiman.

"Apple cider vinegar acts as a strong remover of the skin's protective layer, making it vulnerable and red," said Dintiman.

2. Care at a beauty service provider that does not meet the requirements

Dhaval Bhanusali, a dermatologist in New York, has treated many patients with complications from complex procedures performed by beauty service providers who do not meet the requirements.

"Unfortunately, it turned into 'wild', and this is scary," he told INSIDER .

Bhanusali has seen side effects including scars and nodules (lumps on the skin), but they can be worse. Advice? Visit a certified dermatologist.

3. Rely on social media for advice

"There are many great products that people recommend, but they may not be the best for your skin type," said Bhanusali.

One of his patients recently used the alpha hydroxy peel that he saw on Instagram, the result actually made his skin flush and dark spots.

Bhanusali advised to consult a dermatologist rather than having to try various products which turned out to be not necessarily suitable.

4. Braiding the hair tightly

Dr. Anand Haryani, a dermatologist in Florida, told INSIDER that braiding hair continuously and tightly is one of the bad things about hair.

"This might be fashionable, but it can cause permanent hair loss," he said.

5. Rub the face too hard

There are two types of exfoliation, mechanical and chemical, Dr. Charlotte Birnbaum, a dermatologist in New York.

Mechanical peels involve physically removing dead skin cells with a brush or scrub.

"It can be too hard on the skin and can actually cause redness, black spots, and pimples - the opposite of what we want," said Birnbaum.

If you really want to exfoliate the skin effectively and safely, use exfoliant chemicals instead.
